Domain: EducationProject Name: Skool-SansadInception: 2014

Under the Education domain, Deepastambha Charitable Trust runs Skool-Sansad—a model parliament for school students designed to introduce them to Indian parliamentary democracy through hands-on simulations rather than textbook theory.

Democracy and civic responsibility are best understood by practicing them. Rather than asking students to passively memorize constitutional articles, Skool-Sansad invites them into a living laboratory of governance. Guided by the constitutional ideals of Justice, Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity from the Preamble of the Indian Constitution, students research real national challenges, engage in healthy debate, and work collaboratively across parties to form constructive solutions. To ensure equal access across all economic backgrounds, participation has no fees, with travel, meals, and lodging allowance covered for finalists.
